Inspiration: 52 Christmas Card Throwdown + Mojo Monday sketch #232
I looked through my stamps and dies for some snow people and landed on the Cool Dudes stamp set from Paper Smooshes. I love those little images, they are fun and quick to colour and look so good on a card. I pulled out the Sugar Plum collection (2016) from My Mind's Eye, which is on my list of paper pack I would like to use up.
I picked the paper that has little trees on it to give my snowmen a background and as I was moving stamp sets around, I noticed that the Winter Wishes set has a die for the main sentiment, so I decided to use it on my card. I had a piece of vellum lying on my desk and decided to emboss on it. As I was looking at colours options, I found that my Distress glazes would pair nicely, so I tested a couple of colours and decided to use the Speckled Egg version. I particularly like that since the glaze is not opaque, the sentiment looks like it is made out of ice.
I paired two patterned papers to create the background, added a thin strip of striped paper in the center and I matted the image with a scalloped square to help it stand out more against the patterns. I punched a ribbon hole and added Pretty Peacock ribbon around the papers. I used the Cheery Snowflakes dies from Carta Bella and Glacier glitter paper to create snowflakes to add to the card, topping one of them with a Graphic 45 gem.
I used a piece of plaid patterned paper to make a matching envelope. I die-cut an address block out of Pool Party cardstock, added another small snowman image in the corner and my remaining snowflake in the top corner. I like how the glittery line of the patterned paper frames the block.
I love making Christmas/wintery card in soft candy colours. This turned out pretty cute. Only downside is that the glittered papers shed all over my desk and my clothes, so I'm going to be one sparkly lady for the rest of the evening.
