Inspiration: Retro Rubber challenge #220 (Die-cut or Punch + Patterned Paper + Embossing)
[Jolly Santa stamp set - 2021]
The main image from the Jolly Santa set called out my name tonight. I stamped him in Jet Black ink on watercolour paper and used an aquapainter brush and ink to watercolour the image, before fussy cutting out.
The Santa image is quite big and might have felt a little tightly squeezed on a regular A2 card, so I went up a size and made it 4½" x 6". I used an old paper pad called Snow Village from Pink Paislee (2013) for the background and the cut-apart piece with the sentiment.
Going back to the stamp set, I picked the "Christmas goods for the many" stamp and I embossed it in White Gold Brilliant Sparkle embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer directly on the patterned paper. I also added a green stamp from a 49 & Market washi roll. I wrapped thick baker's twine from Spellbinders around the top of the card and I picked a decorative brad from the Simple Vintage Dear Santa collection to add to my sentiment block.
The card front was mounted on a Pretty Peacock cardstock base and I glued the Santa image with foam adhesive to pop him up. I made a matching envelope out of green paper from my stash and I repeated the same sentiment in gold embossing to match the card. I also die-cut a journaling block with my Zig-Zag Stackers dies and stamped the 2 for 25 cents image in Soft Sky ink.
