Inspiration: Global Design Project #414
I paired one of the dies from the Spellbinders 12 Days of Stitchmas Advent Calendar with the leftover pieces from the Santa Squad collection from Bella Blvd I am trying to finish using up. It made for a nice and colorful card.
One of the pieces I had left from the chipboard stickers was the word "fun." Since the sketch I was drawing inspiration from had three lines, I thought I could use the chipboard word in the middle and complete the rest of the sentiment with stamping. I found "have yourself a" and "merry little Christmas" in the Say What? Christmas Critters stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I die-cut the pink gingham paper with the Sentiment Labels dies and then cut the strip to size after I was done stamping on it.
I cut the gift box out of aqua paper twice, once with the stitching holes and once without so I could back it. This is because the holes are quite big and you can see what is behind, including the dimensional adhesive if you are using it, so backing the piece makes for a nicer finish. I did my stitching with pink embroidery floss and I cut the box lid out of teal patterned paper. I decided to do the nice flowy bow out of Sherbet Lemon glitter cardstock from Tonic and I topped it with a little Queen & Co yellow embellishment.
For the background, I cut a zig-zag rectangle out of two patterned paper, I cut the edges off the Ho Ho Ho one so that the green gingham was peeking behind. I added two yellow corners from the cardstock sticker sheet and little oval stickers to embellish them. I also found a mini heart and star to add as well.
