Inspiration: Colour Inkspiration #136
I love the soft colours from the latest Colour Inkspiration challenge and based on elements that I had lying around my desk, I ended up making a holiday card.
I stenciled Cracked Pistachio and Pine Needles Distress Oxide inks on Sahara Sand cardstock, using the layering Nordic Winter stencils from Honey Bee. I heat set the ink with my heat tool and then I overstamped images from Tim Holtz's Department Store stamp set in Versamark. I embossed the tag in Blushing Bride powder and the 25 and music notes in Rustic Wilderness embossing glaze.
I have Clocks chipboard pieces from Mintay and I decided to stain one silver using the Iron Gate Distress mica stain. The center looked a little too plain to me, so I dug through my pieces previously done with moulds and I found this gear that I had previously colored with Sage wax that was the right size and colour, so I adhered it to the center of the clock.
For the main image, I assembled Tim Holtz's Retro Santa die. This was my first time using it and this is arguably the easiest layered die-cut set I've ever used - cut and assembled in two minutes, top. I considered adding a silver belt buckle but I decided against it. The base layer was die-cut out of black kraft-stock paper, so it's more gunmetal than black and it has a nice shine to it.
