I was puttering around with the Elizabeth Craft Designs dies I scored on sale during the 12 Days of Christmas at my local store and I decided to try out the folder die from the General File Folder Set 2. I was wondering how big it was and it turns out the largest one is a regular 4¼" x 5½ card size once folded. I looked for double-sided paper that would work well and ended up picking the Joyful collection from Cocoa Vanilla. With the soft colours and cute animals, I think this could be a nice collection to pull out for the Christmas cards made for the children's hospital. Here, I ended up picking the chipboard Christmas tree as my main image, though. I framed it with a wooden polaroid frame (leftover from the 'Tis the Season ephemera pack). To fill the background, I cut a piece of Lawn Fawn's pearlescent vellum (which I love) to size and embossed it with the Wintry embossing folder. The chipboard gifts were a little big, so I turned to the puffy stickers pack and the gift stickers were the perfect size.
This felt a little bare on the card front, so I used one of the pocket cards and matted it with Lost Lagoon cardstock, cut using the Deckle Trimmer from Tonic. I wrapped Calypso Coral baker's twine around the polaroid frame and topped the bow with a wood button. I added a banner sticker at the top and a "ho ho ho" foiled sentiment on the side. I added a candy cane puffy sticker at the bottom and three little stars around the tree.
I added a couple of stickers inside the card and on an Aquamarine metallic envelope to match. I am very pleased with how this card turned out. The colours of this collection are just so beautiful together. Cocoa Vanilla has a real knack for doing soft colours that draw the eye.
