Inspiration: Tuesday Morning Sketches #679
I played around with the Pumpkin Spice collection a bit before putting it away and created this adorable little scene using the scarecrow as the starting point. I cut two ovals, one out of orange patterned paper and one out of green gingham paper, and I cut the green one with the Grassy Border die to create the ground. I cut a thin strip of Oak Woodgrain Specialty paper to make a post and mounted the scarecrow on dimensional adhesive on the oval. I added two sunflowers on each side.
I picked polka dot paper for the background and matted it with Bermuda Bay cardstock, then I mounted it on a Baked Brown Sugar card base. I stamped a birthday sentiment from a new stamp set found at my local store, picked because I thought the little images on each side looked like wheat. I used the Sentiment Labels dies from Spellbinders and Copper foil paper to create a frame around the sentiment. I used sugared brads on each side of it. (On a side note, I see that Doodlebug is bringing the sugared brads back in their upcoming Christmas collection, and that made me happy.)
I popped the sentiment on dimensional adhesive and then I added a little mushroom to the scene and a cloud at the top. In the mini icons pack, I found a little crow and a fence, which I cut in half so that I could place it on both sides of the scarecrow. I used the smaller scarecrow sticker on the matching envelope. As with most Doodlebug creations, this turned out quite cute!
