Inspiration: Simon Says Stamp Monday (Fun with Stencils) + Try Stampin' on Tuesday #568
I love those silhouette dies from Tim Holtz and wanted to get the woman on one of my cards. I was going through my 6" x 6" paper pads for another project, but the Moments papers from My Mind's Eye caught my eye and I thought the navy would look cool paired with a silhouette, so inspiration drew me that way.
I picked papers to put together layers like on the sketch, and I decided to add stenciling to the scalloped rectangle. I went through my pastes and since I had been really enamored with the Transparent Gloss Texture Paste look I got on my project the last time I used it, I decided to pull this jar again. I cannot say enough nice things about this product. The texture makes it really easy to use, it spreads easily and evenly, dries pretty quickly and you get this very neat shiny result that looks like papers that have that special UV treatment on them. I did a little flourish here and of course, it only shows when the light catches it, but it looks truly wonderful.
The sentiment was stamped with the Messages d'amitié stamp set from Florilèges Design and it reads "Simply for you." I wanted my woman's dress to be embellished with a flower, which I punched with an old mini punch from Stampin' Up! out of cardstock embossed with Liquid Platinum embossing powder and I dotted the center with a polished dot.
Using the umbrella top die, I tried three different patterned papers on the silhouette and was not liking any of the result, so I decided to keep the whole thing navy and as not to waste the die-cuts, I used them on the envelope to match the card.
