Inspiration: Festive Friday #115 (Dog + Spots + Cannon Balls)
I got really excited when preview of the Say Cheese at the Parks collections from Simple Stories appeared online. Those might be the cutest Disney-inspired scrapbook collections I've seen so far. I impatiently waited for them to come out and got my hand on most of the items as soon as they came out. This is my first time finally using them. I have to assume the collections are based on Disneyland's lands as the pirates images are found under the Frontier at the Park collection, but the pirates ride is clearly in Adventureland in Walt Disney World. (I pulled the map I have from our last trip to double-check, as I was doubting my memory.)
The design of the page is pretty simple. I basically just had fun moving the ephemera images and foam stickers around to make a cohesive design. I love the picture of my niece - she doesn't need much prompting to make sassy poses for pictures and that pirate face is all her! I discovered that the pirate's hat from the foam stickers was the perfect size to fit her head and I couldn't stop giggling once I put it on her.
We visited the Adventureland section of the park after dinner and we started debating whether to ride Pirates or Jungle Cruise. We got lucky, as the lines for both rides were pretty short, so we ended up being able to ride both before the firework show started. I'm glad we had the chance to revisit this classic with the kids.
This was perfect for the challenge, as I had dotted paper, cannon balls and the little dog holding the key. I love that Simple Stories incorporated that image in the collection - it was the scene from the ride that stuck the most for me as a kid.
