This page has been a long time in the making. I had purchased this blueberry Alexandra Renke paper specifically to scrap the pictures we had taken when we went blueberry picking with my mom, and I had put together a page kit, which I tried working on a couple of times and could never find the inspiration spark to get going on it. Third time was the charm and I finally managed to get a page done with that paper today.
My mom had promised my niece she would take her blueberry picking when we visited her, and my five-year-old niece was really looking forward to it. As is often the case with young kids, she really didn't think about the details that this would entail. It just sounded like a fun activity and she figured she'd fill a whole basket of blueberry and get to stuff her face with fresh blueberries soon after. Let's just see it wasn't long until she realized that the basket was not getting filled really fast and started commenting on how long this was taking. It didn't help when her foot got caught on a rock and she fell and dropped most of the blueberries she had picked on the ground. Tears ensued and it took us a little while to turn her mood around. I think all was forgotten that evening when she got to enjoy a bowl of fresh blueberries with cream.
The other papers I paired with the Alexandra Renke one are from the Abandoned paper pad from Tim Holtz. The colors and mottled look pair well with the blueberries pattern and the pictures. I punched the raspberry-colored one with a tag topper punch and added seam binding on it for texture. I created my title using blue puffy stickers from Pinkfresh and purple stickers from Queen & Co. I don't think I had ever managed to use the purple alphabet yet, so I was happy to finally use it on something.
One of the pictures was taken from far apart, so I punched it with a circle punch, and added a mat underneath to make it stand out more. I placed it opposite the title and I slid two copper leaf ornaments underneath, since I already had the rose gold die-cut border on the page as well.
I've recently started organizing some leftover embellishments by colours in drawers, so I went to see what I had in matching colours there for inspiration. I slipped a little Patch die-cut leftover from my 49 & Market projects on there and a green label die-cut for the date. I dusted off my old Crop-a-Dile Big Bite to add eyelets to each side. I also found a chipboard banner with dark seal stripes, which I added in the corner of my picture and I topped it with a resin flower.
The journaling was printed on my computer and cut up in stripes. I sprinkled sequins and buttons in matching colours on the page.
