Inspiration: March 2016 Free Sketch from Scrapbook Generation (Allison Davis)
Inspiration sometimes take a hard left... I had taken out the soft Dulce papers from Prima Marketing and was rummaging through pictures to find something from possibly our day at the Magic Kingdom to go with it. Then I found those pictures of us munching on popcorn while waiting for the bus to go back to the hotel after a long day at Epcot and I remembered that I had purchased the What's Poppin' Shaker-pops from Doodlebug's Fun at the Park collection, which would work nicely with those pictures. The collection colour also fit the pictures' colours quite nicely, so I put the other papers aside and switched gears.
The design was based on some Scrapbook Generation sketches I recently downloaded. The design is really simple - five strips of patterned paper in the center of your page - which left a lot of room for embellishments. Initially, I had selected the scalloped circle from the sticker sheet to replace the star from the sketch and it was just supposed to be to mat the popcorn shaker, but some of the text was poking out, which was bothering. I tried finding something to hide it, but I was not liking the layering, so I changed my mind. I kept the sticker as the title and I moved the shaker to the bottom of the page, paired with the direction post Odds & Ends piece. From this same kit, I also pulled the Ice Cream cart, just to stay with the food imagery, and the popcorn bucket and kernels, which were added around the date tag.
The pictures were matted with papers from the Petite Prints pack to make them stand out more. I used the popcorn cut-apart image from the patterned paper, handwrote my journaling on it and I topped it with a Minnie bow. I used some of the little stars around the pictures and I added rhinestones to the main title. An enamel dot was added to the right of the date tag.
