Inspiration: The Paper Players #589 (Clean & Simple House) + Freshly Made Sketch #535
When I saw the clean and simple challenge based on a House theme, I thought I could pull the Home for the Holidays die set from Concord & 9th and use it on a non-holidays card. I was looking for colour combo inspiration and spotted some border stickers I had left aside after pulling apart the remaining pieces of a Simply Scrappin’ kit. Those became the starting point of my card.
I cut a piece of scalloped border sticker and added it to a Thick Basic White card base. I added the grey border over the top. I then started die-cutting the element I needed for my house. I backed the windows with Gold Rush cardstock from Lawn Fawn (one of my favorites). I was finding the house a little plain, so I used one of the Stripes & Splatters embossing folders to add texture to the house, which gave it some nice detailing.
I decided to place my little scene over a heart rather than a circle. I used Primrose Petal Core’dinations cardstock so that I would have texture and could distress the edges. I added a stitched tag die-cut with the Foundation 4 set from Queen & Co. I was planning to add my sentiment to it, but I wanted to use my new French “welcome” dies and it was way too large to use at the top, so I moved the sentiment at the bottom of the scene and added some elements of my little scene to the tag to fill the space. The sentiment was backed with vellum and popped on mini Dimensionals. I then added pearls to finish embellishing the card.
For the envelope, I picked an A2 metallic Aquamarine envelope and used remaining stickers to make it match my card. I totally fell in love with this die set after receiving a Christmas card made with it last winter and I’m glad I was able to put my hands on it, as it is beyond cute.
