Inspiration: Lawn Fawnatics #125
I finally had the chance to try putting together a platform pop-up card and I have to admit, considering how intricate the result looks, it's a really simple interactive card to put together. I also like that you have room to include larger images in your scene, considering how the card folds down. I see many more platform cards in my future.
This one was done with the Mama Llama collection from Simple Stories (2018), which I've more than half-way gotten through. With mother's day coming up, it seemed like good timing to pull it out. I had two llama stickers left in the pack, which made it quick and easy to put together my little scene. I ran my antistatic pouch along the back of the stickers to make sure they wouldn't stick anywhere they are not supposed to when the card is closed, and used liquid glue behind the legs to add them to the card. I used the other stickers from the sheet to add elements around the card and I die-cut a bow out of Lost Lagoon cardstock.
On the back, I cut a piece of cardstock with the Dotted Rectangle Stackables to have someplace to handwrite a note, and I stamped the cardstock with a stamp from the Mail Art stamp set from Tim Holtz to fill the space a bit. I added In Color Opal Rounds to highlights some details of the card.
I closed the card and took measurements to see which envelope size I would need. I got lucky and the closed card measured a little under 5½" x 5½, which is a size of square cards I happen to have envelope on hand for. I picked a vanilla one to match the papers an simply fussy cut an image from the cut-apart sheet to embellish the envelope with. I added opals on the envelope as well.
