Inspiration: Simon Says Stamp Monday (Alcohol) + TGIF Challenge #368
I wanted to put something together for the Simon Says Stamp challenge as I knew it would be a good chance to pull out some of the stamps and dies that I don't use often enough. I ended up picking Beer Blueprint, an old favorite. I remembered I had the Original paper pad from Authentique that might pair neatly with the image, so I prepared a few layering pieces based on the TGIF sketch. I used blue paper for the background and stamped the pretzel repeatedly on it. I then stamped the numbers from the Inquisitive stamp set on the edge of a chevron patterned paper and distressed the edges, before adding inking to it. (My first try was adding stenciling to the pattern and it was a hot mess!)
I ran the brown paper through my Big Shot with the Splatters embossing folder. I distressed the surface with a sanding block and added yellow inking to it so it wouldn't be stark white. I distressed and inked the edges here as well. I created a card base out of Night of Navy cardstock and used the leftover strip as my base layer, after stamping the row of X's on it from the Dotted and Stitched stamp set.
I stamped the beer mug in VersaMark on watercolour paper and embossed it in Early Espresso embossing powder. I used an Aqua Painter brush to colour the image with Classic inks and fussy cut the image. I added it to the card with Dimensionals. I knew I had old eyelets in my stash somewhere, so I dug one out in a brass finish and I added it to my sentiment panel, which was a strip of tiny tickets die-cut with the Sports Event dies. Finally, I decided to add twine and I stapled it in place on the card.
I used the Sports Event dies again to make my address block on a navy envelope. One more masculine card for the stash!
