Inspiration: March 2022 Page Maps Sketch + Little Red Wagon #643 (Letter B = Books)
I've really been on a scrapbooking kick these past few months. I can't remember the last time I got so many pages done in such a short period of time. It feels good to catch up a bit on pages I wanted to add to my albums.
This picture was taken during the pandemic. I've always loved reading but haven't done it as much in the past few years, so I decided to make the best of the fact that we had to stay at home during the pandemic to work on my reading list. I used my birthday rebate at the bookstore to load up on books that were on my wish list at that time.
As you can see, I played with the Notting Hill Book Store collection from Photoplay. I am truly loving this one and I find it easy to create with it. The colours are fun and the patterns are a good mix of busy and tone-on-tone. I based my design on a Page Maps sketch. Things were not working on quite right at first, but after moving the pieces around for a little while, I achieved the correct design balance without having to change any of the pieces I wanted to use.
The title was created with puffy stickers from Elle's Studio and I love how they look. Ironically, the first colour I used is a coral alphabet and the collection uses a poppy red colour, but on the tone on tone paper, the red pattern is sort of a soft coral colour, so it fit nicely enough that I decided to just go for it.
