Inspiration: Page Maps March 2022
I love this picture of my younger niece, quietly sitting sideways on my chair and silently leafing through her books. She has loved books from a very young age and would always go pick a book in the living room bookcase rather than a game whenever she had a chance. Going to the library is also her favorite outing. I was a huge bookwork myself when I was a kid and constantly had my head down in a book, so it's nice that we have this passion in common.
I got my hands on the Notting Hill Book Store collection from Photoplay when it came out, as I loved the book theme. I also loved the colour scheme. I have to say, Photoplay does cute collections, but the colours are sometimes a little too out there for me. This one is right up my alley, though, and this page came together so easily as everything seemed to fall into place without having to fuss too much.
I stenciled patterns on the Soft Sky cardstock background using the Dotted and Stitched stencil and matted it with Bermuda Bay cardstock. I cut a circle rim using my Layering Circles dies and put the circle book sticker in the middle. I layered the blue paper over it and created a green border using the Border dies from Photoplay. I created my title with Thickers and Little Letters alphabet stickers. I filled the gap I had to the right of the title with a book sticker. I loved the "Book Nerd" tag so I made sure to add it to the corner of the page. I included the bookshelf border strip and on the other end, I layered a heart die-cut and the "I'm a bookaholic" image. I added sparkly enamel dots on each of them and little resin hearts to the tag and in the center of the O in my title. I handwrote my date on the circle and I added the "shhh... I'm reading" sentiment strip on the picture. This got done in about an hour and I find the result really pretty.
