Inspiration: Hand Stamped Sentiments #382
I loved the bright mix of colours from the inspiration picture and I decided to make a spring-y birdhouse in those shades. I used Powder Pink for the birdhouse base and added Flirty Flamingo accents to it. I used the grey cardstock from the Woodgrain in Neutrals pack for the post and the inside of the birdhouse. The bird and leaves were die-cut out of Island Indigo cardstock, and I sponged the same ink colour on white cardstock to get a paler wing in a similar shade for the bird.
For the background sky, I used a piece of Spiffy Speckles paper and I sponged Island Indigo ink over a Cloud stencil to create clouds in a matching shade. I framed the card with a Stitched Rectangle Frame. I used Powder Pink cardstock, but I inked the edges with Flirty Flamingo ink so it wouldn't look so flat.
Inside the birdhouse, I stamped a sentiment that says "Sometimes, good things disappear to make room for even nicer ones" and embossed it in white. I struggled to get a good impression because of the woodgrain texture, but I was reluctant to switch to smooth cardstock. Not my best embossing job, but I decided I could live with the little imperfections.
