Inspiration: The Paper Players #578 + Tic Tac Toe #148 (Sentiment + Embellishment + Die Cut)
The Simple Vintage Lemon Twist collection fit in perfectly with the colour challenge, so I went through my papers to see what they would inspire me. I fussy cut the image on one of the cut-apart pages and layered it over a piece of plaid that was die-cut with a zig zag rectangle die.
I had the Foundation 6 die set on my desk and I was inspired to test out the label dies. I used the label die twice, once on Mint Macaron and a second time on Bermuda Bay. I kept the brighter colour for the outline edge and I ran the paler piece in the Finial Press embossing folder for texture. I added a ticket from the Bits & Pieces pack and stapled it in place with my mini stapler.
I went looking through my French sentiments and I pulled out the large "Thinking of You" from a Stampin' Up! set. I embossed it in black powder on vellum cardstock. I first die-cut the sentiment with a stitched oval die, but I wasn't liking the look so I bubbled cut the words instead and decided it was a better look. I added it to the center of the card.
I tied a piece of thick black twine and added a piece of black and white baker's twine as well, then I added a decorative brad and I was happy with the final look. I used cardstock stickers to decorate the inside of the card and the matching envelope as well.
