Inspiration: Hand Stamped Sentiments #382(inspired from the cute van in the image) + As You See It #268(A Favorite Technique of Mine Is... Fussy cutting images from patterned papers)
I wanted to use the Buenos Dias! collection from American Crafts. The cute pink vintage car caught my eye on the cut-apart page and since the text above it was in Spanish, I decided to fussy cut the image to use it individually. The Spanish text finished with "felicidad" so I thought I could cut the end of the word off so that I could use "dad" alone. That became the starting point of the card.
The cut-apart sheet also had tags, which reminded me of the Try Stampin' on Tuesday sketch, so I cut a few elements to mirror the sketch. I matted the tag with peach glitter paper from the Delicate Pastel Glitter Pad from Memory Box, punched a hole and threaded peach seam binding at the top. I glued the car over the sentiment and I added a couple of flower stickers to hide the text better. I also cut out the little flourish that were around the text on my car cut-apart and use one of them as the light beam at the front of the car.
For the circle, I got my recently purchased Doily die set from Coco and Reno and used the larger circle on patterned paper. I was not happy with my first pattern selection, so I went back and used the softer tile pattern instead, which looked much better. To make the layered banners, I used my Foundation #4 dies from Queen & Co, which the die used for the scalloped rectangle is also from.
I finished the card with Candy Dots and acrylic shapes. I repeated some of the same elements on an A2 Sapphire metallic envelope to finish off the set.

This is lovely, Cindy. I like the combination of fussy cut car and the profusion of flowers it's sitting in against the diagonal stripes. This is a technique I don't use much but you show it to be a very effective one. Thanks for joining us again at As You See It.

So many great fussy-cut elements on this card, Cindy! I love the car and the flowers against the stripes. The stripes up the masculinity of the card design! Thanks for sharing your favourite technique with us at As You See It Challenges!
