Inspiration: SUO Challenge #290 (Christmas) + ColourQ #102
This is my first time purchasing an hybrid embossing folder and I was really curious to see how it worked. I'm not sure if I did this right. I put the die in the folder matching the embossed detail and tried to find the right sandwich for the Big Shot. The first time didn't cut deep enough, the second try had a faded embossing, so I ended up die-cutting first and embossing second. I'll do more research to see if I can find a video showing it done with a Big Shot instead of the Stampin' Up! cutting machine, but in the meantime, I ended up with an okay result.
I stamped my card base with the Birch background stamp and layered my Mint Macaron die-cut piece. I inked the edges and detail to give it a bit of dimension. Then I die-cut the stitched rectangle out of Poppy Parade cardstock, stamped and embossed my sentiment in white and then I proceeded to stamp the images from the set in Basic Grey, Poppy Parade, Mint macaron and Wild Wasabi (I tried all of the current green and couldn't make a single one work with the colour combo, so wasabi was the colour that matched the best). I used the matching dies to die-cut the images and then I arranged them around the card.
This bundle is great to make relatively simple cards that look very layered and intricate. There is definitely less work involved on this card than the result would suggest.
