Inspiration: In[k]spire Me #464 + October 2021 Card Maps Sketch
I'm still riding the inspiration wave of the Card Maps sketches combined with the Comfort and Joy collection from My Mind's Eye (2016). The ornament sketch was clearly calling for the Stitched Ornaments dies from Lawn Fawn to be pulled out. I wasn't sure first how to embellish my bauble, but once I started trying out things with the dies, I got in the groove. My elements were feeling flat, so I decided to pull out the Antique Linen Distress ink to add to the edges and that gave it a fun vintage look that made the overall card more appealing. I embossed my sentiment in old white powder that has sort of yellowed over time, matching the vanilla tones of the papers nicely. For the ornament, I used Gold Rush cardstock from Lawn Fawn for the snowflake element and the top of the ornament. I borrowed a snowflake from the Stitched Snowflakes die set from Stampin' Up! to add a layer. I used the Genial Gems around the snowflake on the ornament for a bit of texture. I am truly loving those gems paired with this paper collection, the colour is truly perfect for it.
I repeated similar elements on the envelope to match and used a few leftover pieces to embellish the inside of the card.
