Inspiration: Color Throwdown #664
I was very intrigued by the Pixel Christmas stamp from Impression Obsession. I love the image itself, but I'm very curious to play with different techniques and see how it comes out best. I tried googling pictures of samples made with it before purchasing the stamp, but could not find much online, so I guess it'll be up to me to experiment.
Here, I stamped the image in Early Espresso ink on Crumb Cake cardstock. I dusted off my old Stampin' Pastels and using a dauber, I added colour to the elements of the image. I also inked the edges of the cardstock with Early Espresso ink.
I overstamped a greeting and the little stars from the Christmastime 3 stamp set from Tim Holtz, and embossed the images in Aqua Tinsel embossing powder from Ranger. I created a mat for my main image using the Deckle Trimmer to keep with the vintage look. I inked a Coastal Cabana card base and added my image to it.
I was trying to think of think of embellishments to add to the card and remembered the shapes I had made with my mould. It included an ornament and the sizing was working well, so I colored it with my waxes and glued it to the top of the Christmas tree. I also found the Tiny Bells from Tim Holtz - I tied a metallic thread bow on top of a bell and a jingle bell and added those to the tree as well to add a bit of dimension and interest.
I stamped the image tone on tone on a seafoam envelope to match the card.
