Inspiration: Mojo Monday #551 + Time Out Challenge #195 (Colored Card Base) + Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Stamp It)
The starting point to this card was a pack of Hello Winter chipboard from Echo Park (2015) I've had for many years and that I'd let to finally use up. I pulled up the matching paper pack and tried to find inspiration. The mug with a hot drink seemed like the most likely image I could use on a card, so I looked at sketches for inspiration and picked a previous Mojo Monday sketch for inspiration. It had two rectangles on it and I spotted some of the tags I had inked earlier this week for fun. Some of them were aqua and blue and could match the patterned papers so that is why I settled on this sketch. Those manila tags were actually purchased at the office supplies store when I first started crafting. Back then, the paper crafts trend was just coming to Quebec and options were still few and far between (oh, how far we've come since!). I think the pack included 100 tags, so I don't know if I'll ever see the bottom of the pile.
I picked the tree pattern to die-cut the stitched oval to put behind, picked the navy tree pattern for the back and added the grey polka dot for the middle strip. The tags were a little bare, so I pulled out the Music & Advert stamp set and added one of the patterns to each tag with Misty Moonlight ink. I tied baker's twine and cotton twine in matching colours to the tags.
For the sentiment, I picked one that could easily be fussy cut to add to the card. I embossed it in white powder on a navy pattern, handcut the banner to add to the cup and did a bubble cut to the last three words. The blue was getting lost on the card base (even though the white sentiment could be read) so I decided to test adding a layer around. Frankly, considering this was done by hand, I'm surprised at how good it looks. I popped it up on Dimensionals as well. I added two snowflake circles from the chipboard pack as well.
