Inspiration: Little Red Wagon #611 (Stay Cool - going to the pool!)
I had a lot of fun putting this card together. On a recent trip to my local scrapbook store, I found a die set from Sizzix called Mixed Media Motifs. It includes various shapes done in a sketch kind of look. I knew those could be useful and as you can see, they add a really fun, whimsical look. I die-cut the square out of Burnished Rose mirror cardstock from Tonic, as I thought the rose gold would match the pink tones of the patterned papers nicely.
I kept going with the Summer collection from Carta Bella and this time, I paired it with the Sunkissed stamps from Simple Stories. I don't often buy stamps from the scrapbooking companies as I find the small images with the thin lines hard to use, but this one was done with thicker lines and with more of a whimsical style so it appealed to me. The set doesn't come with dies, but the images were easy to fussy cut.
The squares that had the two small images felt a little too empty, so I layered additional bits from the cut-apart sheets. I stamped a sentiment from the long-retired Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set that reads, "Thinking of You" and added it with Dimensionals to the lower right square. The layout was mounted on a 5¼" x 5¼" square card that came from a very affordable card base and envelope set from DoCrafts. The envelope and card inside were embellished with papers and stickers, and I added rhinestones, gems and puffy stickers to the card front to finish it off.
