Inspiration: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Anything Goes)
These pictures were taken during my trip to London. The Hobbs store was offering an exclusive Palace collection that was absolutely beautiful and elegant and we circled back to the store at the end of our sightseeing day so that I could try on a few things. I ended up purchasing a leaf green cardigan and teal velvet Mary Janes.
I found the Welcome to Paris papers from Prima Marketing (2012) in my paper stack and thought the colours and designs could work well with the pictures. I have the papers in 6" x 6" format, though, so I had to design my page so that I could put two pages side by side and hide the seam. It worked out pretty well. To mat the pictures, I basically just used all of the scraps I had tucked in the pack and arranged them nicely to peak underneath the pictures. I also added the leftover "lace" scrap I had sitting on my desk. My scraps included a large red circle, which I thought looked nice, so I added it underneath the upper right corner of my picture and I punched two other circles to repeat the design on the page.
To create my title, I used Banners Thickers for the first word - got those on sale and I love how they look on my page, with the gold-foiled letters. The last two words were created with red puffy alphabet stickers from Elle's Studio. The size and colours are perfect. I took a page out of other scrapbookers' book and have started buying two alphabet packs instead of one when I get a new collection. I am hoping that by doing that, I will stretch the packs further. This is a good example here, as "collection" as three Cs and the sticker pack only had two. I wouldn't have been able to write what I wanted with a brand-new pack of stickers had I not doubled. I just started doing that this year and we will see if the theory is paying off.
The journaling was created in Word and printed on white cardstock, then cut into strips. I cut the right edge at an angle for a change from the usual rectangle strips. Little silhouettes were fussy cut out of one of the patterned papers and added in three different spots on the page to create a visual triangle.
There is barely any embellishing done on this page, aside from a few rub-ons (words, stitching and the map) and a little epoxy word. I didn't feel I needed to add anything else for the page to feel complete.
