Inspiration: Mojo Monday #366 + Tic Tac Toe #114 (Square + Embossing + Masculine)
Elvis was my favorite stamp from the famous Oddball release from Stamping Bella and I was lucky to find it at my local store. This will be great to make masculine cards and possibly a birthday card for my dad, who's always been an Elvis fan. I looked at my 6" x 6" paper pads before coloring the image to see which colour scheme I'd be working with and I picked an older My Mind's Eye called Cut & Paste (from 2013). I colored Elvis' suit in yellow hues with a bit of ochre around the waste. I fussy cut the image (too bad the matching dies are not available anymore, although I guess my budget will be better for it). I picked an older Mojo Monday sketch that has a square piece of paper, so that I could work that into my tic tac toe line. I wanted this card to be a father's day card, to add to my stash, so I looked through my trusty sentiment spreadsheet and found I had a "Happy Father's Day" in the Geared Up Garage stamp set. This was great, because it's already framed and has matching dies, so it made it easy to add to the design. I embossed the sentiment with Patina Oxide Baked Texture embossing powder.
Both Elvis and the sentiment were popped up on dimensional adhesive. I added a gold frame to the background, that I had leftover from previously using the Fine Frames Cover die from Altenew (the 13 cuts out 13 frames at once, so I have a few leftovers aside for future projects). The Garage Gears die set includes different gears, so I picked a couple of die-cut out of gold foils sheets and add to the card to fill in the space. I added clear Stickles to Elvis' outfit for a bit of pizzazz. I don't usually add bling to masculine cards, but for a scene outfit, it seemed appropriate.
I used the gridline paper from the collection to line the inside of the card and I gold-embossed Elvis on a Sapphire metallic envelope that matched the navy shade from the papers nicely. I used papers from the same paper pad on the envelope's flap. I've come to the realization when I last cleaned up my scrap room that I am drowning underneath patterned paper so I'm trying to put it to good use.
