Inspiration: Just Us Girls #570 (Valentine)
I wanted to make little Valentine cards to include with my niece's treat boxes, so I made this one using the Snow Much Fun stamp set from Lawn Fawn. I like that the dies cut the arms and allow you to slip something under his paws, and the set includes a heart, so it made for a good Valentine set. I knew I wanted to create a heart-shaped window and ink-blend the background. The color combo was inspired by a gorgeous card I saw in my blog feed from Candice Fisher. I reproduced the DIstress Oxide combo as the start to my card. I would have prefered to make full A2 cards, but to work with the packaging I'm planning to use, a smaller format was required.
I used the white woodgrain cardstock for the card front and I brushed Red Bronze Gilding Polish from Cosmic Shimmer around the edges. Still not sure if I like that detail or not, but I decided to keep it. I created a ribbon bow using Blushing Bride satin ribbon and wrapping copper ribbon around the center. I found a cute circle sentiment in an old wood-mount stamp set called P.S. I Love You. I stamped it in VersaMark on Burnished Rose mirror cardstock and embossed it with Tattered Rose embossing glaze. Because the glaze is transparent, this gives the sentiment a colored glass look that is really cool. I made a matching envelope out of a pink patterned paper scrap and I used the leftover heart from the window opening on the envelope.
