Inspiration: CAS Colours & Sketches #396 + ColourQ #62
Avery Elle came out with some pretty cute stamp sets this season, including the Holiday Circle Tags. The CAS Sketch was perfect to use this set, so I looked at past ColourQ challenges for colour inspiration and I picked #62, as I thought it would go great with the nutcracker image. I embossed it in gold on watercolor paper and used inks to colour the image. I punched the image with a 2" Circle punch and layered it over a Wonky Circle Frames die-cut cut out of Brushed Gold cardstock. I layered scraps of cardstock in matching colours as per the sketch, and I embossed a couple with the Subtle 3D embossing folder to give them texture. The white background was also embossed using the Holly embossing folder.
I stamped my sentiment ("Happy New Year") on white cardstock and layered it over a yellow scrap on the card. I added candy dots and glitter enamel dots in matching hues on each cardstock strip.
The same nutcracker image was then stamped and gold-embossed on a red metallic envelope to finish the set. This card could be simple enough to mass-produce and I love how bright and colorful the ginal result is.
