Inspiration: CAS(E) This Sketch #398
I am now back to recent supplies, as the next Christmas collection I turned to is Jingle All the Way from Simple Stories. I realized the Thickers include Ho Ho Ho, which is featured on this week's CAS(E) This Sketch challenge, so I decided to see what I could create with it. I initially planned on using the three words directly on the card, but I saw the patterned paper with tags and decided to layer three tags behind the words instead. Even with overlapping the tags, the card still ended up measuring 4" x 9" (which fits with the current slimline trend). I punched a hole in the tags and threaded cotton twine in matching colours, then I added the Santa from the Bits & Pieces pack. I added a few decorations from the Sticker Book and Puffy stickers and on a whim I decided to add a couple of dangles on the middle tag.
An envelope was made out of cardstock. I discovered the envelope punch board doesn't include measurements for cards that are 9" high, so I took my best guess and it worked out. I used a cut-apart for the center, and decorated with a die-cut and a sticker.
The resulting card is probably not what would qualify as a Clean and Simple card, but it was really easy to assemble and I'm loving the end result. I'm happy because this was one of the fall collection that I was on the fence about buying - so far, I've made two cards with it and I've loved the results for both, so I'm happy I purchased it.
