Inspiration: Mojo Monday #544 + Festive Friday (patterned paper + pearls + die cut)
Today's creation was inspired by the gorgeous Farmhouse Christmas papers from Carta Bella. All of their Farmhouse collections are been absolutely stunning and this one is no exception. I grabbed the 6" x 6" paper pad at my local store and it was the inspiration for this card.
I liked the cut-apart sheet and decided to use of the sentiments for my card. Because it was taking up a lot of room, I wasn't sure what to fill the circle with. I kept thinking I could do a hanging ornament. I have a pair of punches from last year's Holidays catalogue, so I pulled them out and saw that I could actually fit the two pretty nicely. They were punched out of plaid and were fading against the background so I decided to add red metallic stitching around the shape. And to punch the top out of Copper foil paper. And to add something in the middle. I ended up using one of the patterns and cutting the little frames out to add to the ornaments. Finally, I found some red tinsel trim leftover on my desk and decided to hang my ornaments from it. As I was grabbing the tinsel, I also spotted some white lace and decided it might look nice with the farmhouse look of the paper. This filled the space nicely on the card and lightened it up a bit. Finally, I added moss green, berry and vintage pearls to the lace and card. The papers were added to a Crumb Cake card base and I inked the edges with Crumb Cake ink to better match the farmhouse feel of the papers.
I repeated one of the ornaments inside the card. For the envelope, I grabbed a Oak Woodgrain envelope, added green polka dot paper at the bottom and copper Merry Christmas washi tape (from Crate Paper's Snowflake collection). I layered two punched ornaments again.
