Inspiration: Card Maps July 2018 Sketch + The Paper Players #517 (Hooray for the Holidays)
Last summer, my local store offered some interesting discounts on some of the supplies to make room for the new things that would be coming out in the fall and I was able to score some Christmas in the Country puffy stickers and chipboard stickers on sale. I don't have matching papers for that collection, but when I looked at the soft muted colours, they reminded me of my old City Sidewalks paper collection from Pink Paislee. I pulled it out and sure enough, they match beautifully. I have always loved working with those papers, everything made with this collection just turn out absolutely lovely. This card is no exception, the softness really appeals to me. I started with the Christmas parchment chipboard piece and decided to layer the vintage woman. I wrapped the parchment with Antique Gold metallic thread from Altenew (one of my favorite recent acquisitions, I'm adding it to everything!). I then layered a little 25 puffy sticker to the woman.
I picked the newspaper pattern for my background and die-cut it with the Wonky Stitched Rectangles Die-namics. I decided to add gold splatter for shine and interest, so I used the Light Gold watercolor from the Gansai Tambi Starry Colors collection. I also edged the sides of the paper with the gold watercolor and I ran the paintbrush around the woman's image to give it a gold edge as well. I then picked two matching patterned papers and rounded one corner on each, as per the sketch, and I added my sentiment ("happiness and health") to a piece of golden yellow paper. It already had a pinking edge from a previous die-cut I had done and I decided I liked it, so I kept it. I finished embellishing with another puffy sticker word, a couple of colored pearls and an Iridescent Bubble.
The matching envelope is a A2 Metallic Blonde envelope and I used the same image as a puffy sticker layered on a punched piece to finish the matching set.
