I'm planning a candy scavenger hunt for my nieces to make up for no trick or treating this year. I've been wrapping up candy in pretty packages in the last few weeks and today, I prepared cute tags on which I'll write the clues to the scavenger hunt. The Fold-Up Tags dies were perfect for tag, since I can decorate the front and the flaps lift up to reveal the clue inside. I've been loving those dies since I purchased them and I keep coming back to them. I love the size, the shape and the embellishment dies included in the set.
Since the projects are for a 2-year-old and a 7-year-old, Doodlebug papers seemed like a good choice. I picked the BooVille 6" x 6" pack, which includes a page of cut-aparts that I also used to decorate some of the tags. I was left with a few empty ones, so I pulled out the Pumpkin Party mini icons stickers to finish decorating. Then I went to town with enamel dots, iridescent stars, pearls, gems, Doo Dadz and my Aqua Shimmer brush. (On a side note, I recently acquired the Halloween Party and Princess Sparkle Doo Dadz pack from Button Galore & More). Those are assorted packs mix and I knew I'd get more use out of them if I separated the pieces and organized them by colors. It took quite a while, especially since I discovered the sparkly pieces are rolled foil paper, which is static-y and hard to grab as it's soft. It was worth the time investment, though, as I was able to quickly spot the colors that matched my Doodlebug papers today and use them.)
I'm really pleased with the result. We'll see if my oldest niece wants to keep the tags. If she doesn't, I might recycle them in my scrapbook album and pair them with pictures of the scavenger hunt. I probably spent a good three hours on those altogether.
