Inspiration: Just Us Girls #543
My sister and brother-in-law texted me this picture a couple of years ago. We had discussed dressing up as Rainbow Brite for Halloween not long before they stopped by a store and found this adorable rainbow costume. I've been sitting on this picture for a while but today I was pulling out my supplies to start crafting and found the Dream Big papers from Simple Stories, which were perfect with their rainbow colors and patterns. This came together pretty easily (although slowly since i was distracted by a show I was watching on my computer at the same time). I used the brand-new Stitched Rainbow dies from Lawn Fawn. I love that they included the base piece to mount the rainbow on, which makes it easier to assemble the rainbow and move it around before gluing it in place (and it also offers the option to pop it on dimensional foam easily as well - plus the stitching is cute). I added two clouds die-cut out of Dazzling Diamonds glitter paper, topped with Shimelle enamel shapes.
I'm still working on using my Pool side chipboard pieces from Crate Paper. The diamonds (kites?) were the perfect colour so I scattered all three on the layout. I've shared recently my attempts at creating my own embellishments. My latest endeavour was tassels. I acquired sparkly crochet thread (silver and gold) and a big bucket of beads, and this gold tassel was my first one. I love how it turned out, and it looked nice hanging at the bottom of one of the diamonds.
