During my quarantine YouTube deep dive, I stumbled unto a video showing how to make a little boxes with unexpected angles. It immediately got me curious and instead of watching the whole thing, I kept the video aside until I could sit down and follow along while making my own sample. Here's the deal: the video is well-made, the instructions are clear to follow along. The part where you have to glue the box together and get the angle right? It's doable, but it's challenging. This is the kind of project that would totally get client excited for a class and potentially very frustrated during the class. Considering this was my very first one, though, I think it turned out very nicely and that it would probably improve from here. I did make an addition to what was shown, by adding patterned paper to the point on the box. The tutorial shows how to cut the patterned paper at an angle to follow the shape of the box and I realized I could fish those three pieces out of my recycling bin and cut them smaller and use them on the corner. I think it makes this detail stand out even more.
The patterned paper is old. Not sure from which year, but that was purchased in my early years of stamping. Because my downline members and I are doing this team challenge of using Designer Series Paper, especially older one, I found this pack. There is not a lot of paper in it, if I can push myself to make a couple of projects with it, I might be able to finish it once and for all.
As I said in another post, I had rumaged through my stamps and put aside a pile of sets that include encouragement stamps. Here, I used an older SAB set that includes a sentiment that means "Time will do its work." I guess in English you would probably say something like "It'll all work itself out in good time." Pretty appropriate in our current context, I find.
