Inspiration: Stamping Bella June (Summer Vibes) + October 2019 Card Maps Sketch + Hand Stamped Sentiments #340
I've received a Stamping Bella order this week, in which I made sure to grab dies for the stamps I have before those are retired (as the company announced they will not be carrying dies anymore). I was inspired to pull out Edna Loves the Ocean and Mintay's Paradise collection for today's card. This Edna images is so cute and sassy, I always love how projects turn out when using her. I stuck with my Faber-Castell watercolor pencils for this one. I'm finally starting to get the hang of them and to like the results I'm achieving more and more. I used Stampin' Up!'s Fluid 100 watercolor paper for this one. It is pretty textured, so I get a different result with it than when I am using my smoother cold-press Fabriano watercolour paper, but in this case, because of the shabby collage look of the patterned papers, the textured watercolor paper seemed like a good fit.
The sketch has a circle underneath the main image, but I decided I use one of the frames from the cut-apart sheets. The ocean background was just perfect, and I found the sentiment "aloha" in a current Stampin' Up! set, which I embossed in Verdigris embossing powder. There's a tab for the sentiment on the sketch, which I transformed into a Beach sign fussy cut from the cut-apart sheets of the collection. I added a small flower from the same sheet and a metal leaf from the Tropical Oasis trinkets sold in Stampin' Up!'s minicatalogue. I added metallic washi tape and thick baker's twine. I used another cut-apart image on a Lagoon Metallic envelope to finish the set.
