Inspiration: Just Us Girls #527 + Simon Says Stamp Monday (Stencil Fun!) + ColourQ #204
I have a new Peek-A-Boo creation to share with you! When I saw the black background challenge from Just Us Girls, I thought I could do a starry background and ink up my Peek-A-Boo Fair stamp set. (I was very excited when I spotted this one in the Creativation sneak peeks!) I pulled out my Transfer Gel Duo and a star stencil transfered my images on black cardstock. As I turned around to set the cardstock to dry, I found a previous stenciled piece I had done with transfer gel and foil paper, this one with purple fireworks on it. It's been on my desk waiting for the right idea to come around for it and I realized that the fireworks might be even cooler with the ferris wheel than stars.
I picked a fun colour combo that includes purple and started coloring and die-cutting my images. I wanted to fill all three carriages with characters, so I pulled out Polar Peek-A-Boo for the bear and the fox. I added a Stitched Rectangle Frame around the card, which hid the white border I was left with on the ferris wheel (it was sticking out like a sore thumb against the black background). I added iridescent mini star confetti around the fireworks and Crystal Stars embellishments on the carriages. I added a turquoise dottie in the center of the ferris wheel and I picked a sentiment from the Peek-A-Boo Fair stamp set to add to the card. I stamped a teal envelope to finish off the set.
What do you think? It's a little busy, but it sure is cute. Funny thing is that I had used my stencil to make a landscape card so initially, I couldn't help but notice that the fireworks looked like they were at the wrong angle (it's not a perfect circle, the dust is falling from the center a certain way). Thankfully, when I started building the scene, it hid the background enough that you can't really tell anymore.
