Inspiration: Freshly Made Sketch #416
I've purchased the Happy Mailbox Cubbies stamp set a little while ago but hadn't made a project with it yet. I finally took the plunge today, pairing it with some older Authentique patterned papers. I embossed the mailbox image with gold powder and watercolored it using inks and my Starry Gansai Tambi watercolor set. The fun part of this stamp set is that the matching dies included with it die-but slits and opening doors on all of the mailboxes. You can then stamp and color the additional parcels and envelopes images and tuck them in there where you please. It makes for such a cute little scene. I went with something Christmasy here, but this would work well all year long.
Because the focal point was the mailbox row, the rest of the card is fairly simple. I did add Distress Grit-Paste at the bottom using the Snowcap layering stencil and I sprinkled Distress Mica Flakes on the wet paste. I also added a very thin border of Golden Crystal glimmer paste around the largest piece of patterned paper and a piece of gold satin ribbon. The card was a bit bulky, so I made an oversize envelope using patterned paper from the same collection and I added a postage stamp die-cut for the address block.
