Encre, papier, ciseaux: The First Time We Met

I am totally in love with the new Snow Much Fun! collection from Carta Bella. The soft colours, the designs, the patterns - love it all. I don't have a whole lot of winter outdoor pictures to scrapbook, but I realized that I still had the picture of the first time I met my second niece in the hospital to scrapbook and the soft colours totally work. Also, Arielle was born in January, on a night where snow was falling really heavily. I went to my sister's house during the night to babysit my older niece while she was in the hospital and the next day, when we were invited to go visit them, it took me a good half hour to take the heavy blanket of snow that had totally covered my car and to shovel a way out of the driveway. So the snow theme is definitely appropriate.

I have the chipboard accent from the same collection and I used a few, including the Warm Heart sentiment and the little polar bear. I think he's taking his blanket with him because of the cold, but to me, it looks like he's hugging his blankie! I used the Falling Snowflakes stencil from Carta Bella and Tattered Rose Distress Oxide ink to add a soft snowflake pattern in two opposing corners of the page. I used the same ink to blend around the cocoa cut-apart piece and I love the soft blend it produced. I'm really happy with the final resulting page.
