Inspiration: Card Maps July 2019 + Lawn Fawnatics # 58 + ColourQ #361
Friends fans, this one is for you!
Rawrsome was one of the stamp set I was really excited about from the Spring Lawn Fawn release and yet, I still had not made anything with it. Not sure why, probably because I was waiting to be hit with an original idea. Inspiration struck when I spotted the sentiment that reads "You can't give up! Is that what a dinosaur would do?" in my Friends-inspired stamp set from The Ink Road Stamps. I remembered that this sentence was told to Ross in the TV show, but I was hazy on who has said that to him. I was thinking Phoebe, but a quick Google search reminded me it was Joey. (You can see the clip HERE, if you want to refresh your memory.)
I liked the Card Maps sketch with the circle in the center, as it reminded me of the Reverse Stitched Scalloped Circle Windows dies, which I love to use. I inked a sky using the Cloud stencil and the ground using the Palm Tree Border. Then I decided to make an interactive element and have the lava pull out of the volcano, using the Let's Toast Pull-Tab Add-On Die. Of all of the interactive dies from Lawn Fawn, this is my favorite, as it is really easy to use and can work is many different scenes. You just need to trim the pull tab to a smaller size when using an image that's smaller than the toast from the original set, which I did here.
For the front panel, I used some Woodgrain cardstock from Lawn Fawn in brown, for additional texture, and at the last minute, I decided to add the little baby dinosaur and the egg to fill in the space some more. (This is a 5-1/4" x 5-1/4" card, so there's a lot of ground to cover.)
