Inspiration: Clean&Simple #102 + Retro Rubber Challenge #103 + Just Us Girls #473 (Love)
This card was inspired by the Clean&Simple sketch, but I played with the dimensions a little because I really wanted to play include my Wonky Circle Frames dies. I wanted some fun pink combos and I had an old ColourQ one in mind, which I found (#70) and drew inspiration from. My characters were colored with Polychromos pencils - I'm still enjoying those very much and I'm getting more and more pleased with the results I'm achieving with pencils, so I keep on wanting to use them more often.
The background circles were inked with Distress Oxide inks and blending tool. I spritzed water, dried the cardstock and overstamped hearts with the same ink colours (candied Apple, Tattered Rose and Abandoned Coral). I die-cut the frames in Early Espresso and then I spaced the circle on my desk to figure out which card size I needed. I figured around 8½ inches, so I started looking for envelopes in my stash, and I found one that could accommodate 9" x 3-1/2" cards, so I went with that size.
There was quite a big of cardstock left between images and I wanted to fill out the space, so I got the idea to pull out my old wheels. (Long time no see!) I've unmounted most of them a while ago, and I decided to pick Lots of Hearts for the background. I think it looks adorable with the S'more Fun stamp set. I added Champagne Glimmer Paper punched hearts to mimick the little circles from the sketch.
Although I stamp most of my cards in French, I was very tempted to use the fun sentiments from the set, which the word play on S'more, so I stamped "I love you s'more" on a piece of Blushing Bride cardstock and embossed it with Early Espresso powder. I pulled out some brown polka dot sheer ribbon (I've been using the sheer polka dot ribbon from May Art pretty much since I started crafting and I have to admit, I still love them as much as I did 15 years ago).
The leftover frame pieces from my die-cutting were used to make a matching decorated envelope and to decorate the inside of the card.
