Inspiration: CAS Colours & Sketches #307 + Fusion + Stamp Ink Paper #182 (Simple Valentine)
One of the sentiments in the French version of the Part of my History stamp set is "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not," which is perfect for Valentine's Day cards. Here, I pulled out my favorite Occasions set, Hey Love, and colored the gorilla with Stampin' Blends markers. I die-cut him the image the Stitched Shapes Framelits and matted it with the Lovely Lipstick foil paper (offered as a SAB freebie), die-cut with the Layering Square Framelits.I decided to put the square at a 45-degree angle to fill in the space more. I stamped my sentiment in Basic Grey ink on Powder Pink cardstock and went thought my current embossing folders to pull out something fitting. I decided the Tufted embossing folder could look pretty and after embossing, I added silver metallic pearls everywhere the tufting meets. While I really love the dimension the pearls give, I wonder if it was a good move because I feel the background overpowers the main image. I also added Petal Pink rhinestone gems on my scalloped square, trying to frame the image. I started with four and it was way too much, so I went back down to two. Now, I just need to sleep on this design and judge the result with a little more distance. Right now, I like the ideas I combined, but I find the background overpowering. I guess they can't all be masterpieces...
