Inspiration: In[k]spire Me #385 + As You See It #193
As I was looking at the Inkspire Me sketch, I realized that I could use the open space to keep working on my Zodiac Girl series. The pretty colour combo was also very appealing, so I looked at the girls I had yet to make a card with and Aquarius seemed the best fit for the colours. I also decided the flourish from the sketch would be a stenciled pattern. I was initially planning to do little diamonds, but as I pulled the stencils out, the Swirl caught my eye because it looked like water drops. As I was pulling out the supplies I planned on using, I realized that it was in line with the As You See It challenge. I had to adapt my ideas to make sure I had all of the items in there. I had Poppy Parade, ribbon and a die for my main image, so I added Costal Cabana patterned paper on my card base and created my own striped paper by gluing 1/4" cardstock strips on a Basic Black square.
As for my other Zodiac girl cards, I die-cut the French Zodiac sign with the Alisha Lowercase Alphabet dies, in Coastal Cabana cardstock. Because at that moment, I was still planning on doing the diamonds in the background, the colors didn't really matter and I did the letters in aqua, which is how I ended up doing the water splash in purple. (I mixed purple reinker in texture paste and threw a dash of Dazzling Diamonds glitter in there.) The card still seemed a little bare, so I threw in a mix of gems, sequins and raindrops to embellish.
