Inspiration: Mojo Monday #501 + Simon Says Stamp Monday (Use Something New) + Global Design Project #171
I had a request for a New Year card, so I was looking at stamp options and I decided to ink my new Tree Farm stamp set from Essentials by Ellen. The hedgehog is holding a little sign and I figured I could probably stamp Happy New Year in it. I lucked out and found a sentiment that was exactly the right width to fit in there. The design is based off of the Mojo Monday sketch #501, but I did a mirror image because the trailer looked better placed on the left, with the hedgehog on the righté The design was feeling a little empty, so I grabbed the Christmas lights from the Light Parade stamp set and added this detail at the top of the panel. I also added washi to embellish a little. Initially, I had placed green washi on both sides of the back panel with the snowflakes, but it looked a little weird, so I gently lifted the bottom one off, tried it on the tree panel, liked the result, and when I layered the two panels, I decided I liked having one piece on the back panel and one piece of washi on the main panel - made the overall card design more dynamic that way.
I put a dab of Glossy Accent on the Christmas lights, and on the nose and eyes of the hedgehog, and added a few red pearls to the card as well.
