Inspiration: Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Anything Goes) + Paper Craft Crew #324 (Something new + No hearts + Texture) + Mojo Monday #504
As I've said in previous posts, I was happy to see the Mojo Monday sketches make a comeback and since I only found out about it after a few sketches had been released, I'm catching up on the oes I missed. I was looking at sketch #506 and decided the leaves could be gears instead and that I could break in my Geared Up Garage bundle. I was happy that this one was translated. It's a nice masculine set and the French sentiments are awesome. Here, I picked the "Happy Father's Day" one and embossed it in Silver powder over Silver Foil paper. In order to give the tag dimension and dirty it up a little bit, I used a Q-tip to rub Jet Black StazOn ink over the embossing. It makes the tag a little less shiny and gives it dimension.
The die-cut gears were cut in half so I could spread both ends over the card front. I also got the idea of adding brick texture using texture paste dyed with Cajun Craze reinker. I made sure to spread the paste unevenly, as I didn't want a clean edge and wanted uneven bricks. I used the leftover paste inside the card and also on an envelope (only to realize later that I had used an A2 envelope while the card was square - brain fart moment). The car was colored with Cajun Craze Stampin' Blends markers, and I pulled out older embellishments to finish off the card: Urban Underground embellishments for the screws, Home for Christmas Enamel dots for the Mossy Meadow dots and the Merry Merlot reversible ribbon from the Holidays catalogue.
