Inspiration: ColourQ #152 + Freshly Made #366
When I saw the Freshly Made sketch, I figured it would work nicely with the Starry Scene stamp set, which I was hoping to use. The big starry sky was stamped in VersaMark and embossed in Aqua Tinsel embossing powder. I used my stamping platform and went back for a second coat of VersaMark, hoping for a more opaque result, but even after the second coat of embossing, the Crumb Cake cardstock was still showing through. I don't mind too much, but it'll be interesting to compare how the sky looks when I stamp it instead of embossing it. I figured I would be adding a few sequins in there to try and distract from the uneven embossing.
The colours were inspired by a past ColourQ combo and looked masculine to me, so I tried focusing on picking elements that would work for a masculine card. I created the mountains and trees by die-cutting the base shapes out of Basic Grey and Crumb Cake cardstock, and then I paper pieced some Gumball Green and Whisper White cardstock . I ran my VersaMarker over the edge of the snowcaps and added some white textured embossing powder from Lawn Fawn for a bit of texture. I found a nice big Happy Birthday sentiment in an old Stampin' Up! set and placed the paws of the beat over the top word to anchor him in place in the design. (I went back and forth between adding him or not, but the scene felt a little bare without him.)
A nice A2 Seafoam envelope is completing the set.
