Inspiration: Hand Stamped Sentiments #298
Unfortunately, I was in need of a sympathy card this week as my godfather's spouse lost her father. I could have looked in my card stash to find something already made, but since this is someone from the family, I felt like making something taylored-made for her. My last haul included the Forever Fall papers from Simple Stories, a beautiful fall collection in unexpected colors. Something about the patterns and colors of this fall collection lent itself well to a sympathy card. The haul also included some foil sheets, which I was curious to use with some of the adhesives I already have on hand at home. I had gold in mind, but the store was all out, so on a whim, I tried the Amber Watercolor sheets from Deco Foil, which has some nice shading to it, going from silver to amber. Here, I applied the foil to chipboard hearts, covered with the Cosmic Shimmer Flake & Glitter Glue (initially bought to go with their gilding flakes). The coverage I got was not even, but it was not the look I was looking for here, so I was fine with it. I used a Antique Bronze Distress Crayon to fill in the empty spaces and the outside borders of the chipboard.

So sorry to hear you actually had to make this card - that sentiment in the middle is so poignant. Such a beautiful card to receive on the loss of a loved one - and its a great take on our sketch. Thanks for joining us at Hand Stamped Sentiments this week
