Inspiration: Freshly Made Sketches #349
I figured I could use the panel from the Freshly Made sketch to create a little scene with the adorable characters from the Santa's Workshop suite. I was initially planning on stamping the characters from the set and coloring them myself, but when I pulled out the Designer Series Paper, I spotted some images that I figured probably fit the Framelits dies, as Stampin' Up! has been doing that in recent years. Sure enough, all of the Framelits fit the images on the DSP perfectly. Thanks to that, the card shaped up pretty quickly. I did borrow the border die from the Detailed Leaves Thinlits set to add a bit of pizzazz to my card, and I tied a little tag from the Santa's Workshop Framelits with Garden Green baker's twine (new in the Holidays catalogue). The French sentiment reads, "All Smiles This Christmas." I would have really liked to use the sentiment that says "I hope you get everything on your list this Christmas" but it was too large for the tag, so I selected design over saying. Little enamel dots and snowflakes were added to the red polka dot paper, and two red rhinestones to the top of the card.
What the picture does not show is that this Specialty DSP has white flocking on it! Such a fun detail. Stampin' Up! had a gorgeous white-flocking flourish paper many moons ago that I used all the way to the very last piece of the paper pack, so I'm happy to see white flocking again. This paper is entirely different, as we went from elegant to totally whimsical.
