Inspiration: Color Throwdown #507
I liked the pretty color combo from Color Throwdown and wanted to play with it, but I also wanted to use the new Lawn Fawn stuff, so I ended up turning this combo into an untraditional Holidays color combo. The two shades of greens were perfect for the elves, anyway, and I had this idea to use the new Reveal Wheel Square Add-On die: use the reveal wheel to show the toys that are inside the decorated box.
It also appeared to me that the elves had their hand up like they were about to high five, so I capitalized on that and made it as if they are pleased with a job well done. The Stampin' Up! 2018 Holidays Catalogue is introducing a really cool 3D embossing folder called Corrugated, which looks like a cardboard box, so needless to say, it worked perfectly with the boxing and packaging theme of this card!
For reference, the new square add-on measures 3-3*4" x 3-3/4". With the matting, I ended up with a card that measures 4-3/4" x 4-3/4". It's a cute, but still substantial size.
TIP: The lid is a separate stamp from the box, so you can choose to have it closed or open. And the die set includes a tiny line that follows the shape of the inside of the box, so you can die-cut a slit and place characters or toys inside. Very clever! Anyway, I used the dies to die-cut the lid and the bow, but that created a lot of white borders when stacking the two pieces on top of the box. I used my scissors to take off the bottom white border of the bow and the lid. I find that the finished piece looks much more cohesive that way and looks like one stamped image.
