Inspiration: Fab Friday #143 + Global Design Project #149
When I opened the Broadway Bound Specialty Designer Series Paper and spotted the page with numbers, I figured I could handcut a couple to keep on making round number birthday cards. The Global Design Project challenge also happened to be a colour combo that included Lovely Lipstick, which is one of the colours from the paper pack, so these became the starting point of my card.
The card is all done with Stampin' Uo! supplies, but some have already retired. I really wanted the main shape to be a star and unfortunately we don't have any current star Framelits anymore (isn't that a shame). I layered a Bermuda Bay star over a vellum star, on which I pierced a border. The Gold Foil paper was embossed with the Ruffled embossing folder (which looks really cool on the metallic paper). I had this idea that I wanted to find a small happy birthday and repeat it on every side of the star. The one I found was still a little bigger than I had envisioned, but at this point, I decided I would rather modify my design slightly rather than hunt longer. A few gold sequins, gold button and glitter enamel dots were added to finish it off as well.

So fun - love that layered star! It IS a shame that this set is retired - I used mine just yesterday myself, lol. Thanks so much for playing at Fab Friday!
