Last year, my cousins from BC came for a visit in Montreal. As you can image, we don't see each other often because of the distance so it was a real treat to have them over for dinner and catch up on life. The starting point for this page was the Girl Cousin papers from Echo Park. I can't remember if the rest of the collection did not appeal to me or if my local store didn't carry the whole collection, but I only had the die-cut page in two copies (so that I could use the striped back as well). Because I was limited on how much paper I had, I decided to go for a pocket page layout. I cut some of the square die-cuts to a smaller size (3" x 4") to fit the protector, and I combined some die-cuts together (I handcut the gold heart which initially had a soft turquoise background and I glued it over the heart background piece). I also had a piece of Dots & Stripes paper from Echo Park (turquoise with silver dots) that matched nicely, so I used the front to punch my second heart, and I used the back to make my journaling card. The striped piece at the bottom is actually the bottom portion of the 12" x 12" papers where the company name is. I reused the striped part as an embellishment and I even handcut the small heart that served as the O in the collection name to make my little embellishment. I didn't have a whole lot of pieces, so I got creative!
