When I saw the Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch, I thought it would work well to showcase the Little Monkey Agenda stamp set. (Unfortunately, I didn't look closely enough at the submission deadline and missed out on entering my project). This also worked for the Just Us Girls challenge #446 - Anything Goes, though. I found those fun colorful papers in my collection, called Our Little Monster from Bo Bunny. I also had a paper clay button on my desk. that was the right size and color so I added it to my sentiment strip. The sentiment reads, "Happy Birthday."

Inspiration: In[k]spire Me #357 + As You See It #179 + The Card Concept #96
This simple card came together quite quickly. I was inspired by the watercolor wash and gold lettering from the inspiration picture, and the coral color tied in with the Color Combo from As You See It. I wanted to use the new stamp set Dandelion Wishes released in the 2018-2019 annual catalogue from Stampin' Up! I layered washi tape, ribbon and mini-sequin trim to make the center band and I found some black rhinestones in the Faceted Dots pack. The sentiment was embossed with Gold embossing powder.

I recently shared a story from my last crafting session with my five-year-old niece, and today I made a page about it. The conversation went like this:
Not sure if I should be flattered that she considers my crafting a notch above the rest or if I should worry that I'm turning her into a crafting snob...
I wanted to use some craft-themed papers and I remembered I had an older collection from My Little Showbox that dates back a few years. I found it today, so I printed a picture from our crafting session that day and handwrote our little dialogue on the right side. I added colorful brads to show where it changes speaker, for a fun accent. I used dabs of Glossy Accent to add baker's twine to the bottom of the page. I found some old rub-ons from Crate Paper that were perfect for my title. I was short a couple of letters, but I cut the top part of the d to make it an a and I placed the w on its side to make it an e. (We use a ton of E's in French, so it's always the first letter I'm short on because those English alphabet stickers or rub-ons don't include nearly enough.) I also found some old crochet flowers Stampin' Up! used to sell. The colors worked with the paper and I thought it tied nicely into the craft theme. A pinking edge square was also added with a mini safety pink at the bottom, and a couple of buttons at top with the circle die-cuts. I like how this one turned out!

The Stylish Christmas stamp set is possibly my favorite set from the new 2018-2019 Stampin' Up! annual catalogue. It was love at first sight when I spotted it and there was something so very appealing about the bright samples shared in the catalogue to highlight it. I was looking at my new ink pads (they're still on the corner of my desk, I haven't changed the inks in my caddy yet to reflect the new color families) and I thought Call Me Clover, Granny Apple Green and Poppy Parade would make a terrific color combo, especially for a modern Christmas twist. Inspired by the Paper Players sketch #399, I put together this creation.
The Stylish Christmas stamp set has not been translated to French, so I borrowed a sentiment from the retired Tin of Tags stamp set, which I thought suited the style of the images. Gold pearls were added to the center of the poinsettia, and glitter enamel dots to the panels. A piece of the awesome Granny Apple Green ribbon was tied to the center of the card. This ribbon looks really nice - the weaving pattern creates tone on tone stripes and it has a very nice sheen that's not too overpowering. The back panel was also embossed with the Subtle embossing folder (told you I'd be reaching for this one often!), which I used in both directions to create a linen-like pattern.
This card was also inspired by the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge (Bright and Cheerful).

The Crown Jewels were one of my favorite visits while in London. No pictures were allowed in the vault, but I grabbed a few postcards so that I could include this visit in my London scrapbook and have something to show for it on the layout.
The design was inspired by a December 2017 Page Maps sketch. I initially wanted to simply add big letters for my title, but when I started die-cutting the letters, I decided I liked the negative space and decided to use this piece to make the design a little different. I was trying to figure out which patterned papers I could use and I kept going back to the Naturally Eclectic Designer Series Paper in my mind, because of the gem patterned paper. It turned out that because the papers include Berry Burst, it suited my jewel pictures quite well. I also used the diamond die from the Eclectic Layers Thinlits set tp keep with the theme. The Night of Navy velvet ribbon seemed appropriate for a regal touch and to mimick the velvet found in the crowns. (I think of all of fancy jewels, those crowns with the fur trim and velvet insert are my favorite. Forget the tiaras, I just prefer those crowns.)
What I remember about the visit is that even though the rooms were kept in semi-darkness, there are so many gems on those jewels that you almost get blinded if you look at them directly. And those diamonds on top of the crown and the scepter are honking huge! I was fascinated by the story of how the 3,106 carats diamond was cut into nine stones and 96 smaller round cut diamonds (or as my friend Maggie playfully put it, "diamonettes"). I mean, how big can a diamond be when you manage to get 96 "leftovers" from it!?! It's hard to wrap my head around the value of that jewel collection. The size of the vault door speaks for itself, though - I swear, it must have been well over a meter thick! It was hard not to be impressed by how larger than life everything pertaining to the Tower of London is.

Inspiration: Try Stampin' on Tuesday #369 + TGIF challenge #165 +TCP Tuesday #347 (Outdoors) + Just Add Ink #414 (window or frame)
When I saw the TGIF inspiration picture, I knew it was a good opportunity to pull out the Lemons stamp set from The Cat's Pajamas and its matching die, the County Fair CutUp. They look so cute done in bright, summery colors! I found a sentiment in the Waterfront stamp set (Stampin' Up!) that loosely translates to "A nice, thoughtful gesture brightens up the day," which worked well with my little sun and bright scene.

Inspiration: CAS Colours & Sketches #277 + Clean & Simple #76 + Simon Says Stamp Wednesday (Bright and Cheerful)
I liked the fun, punchy color combo and it was the starting point of my card. I figured I could pair it with the Little Fireflies stamp set I was eager to use, and then I decided the four small squares from the Clean & Simple sketch would work well for that. The fun stitched heart on the top right panel is from the Stitched Gift Card Pocket die set from Lawn Fawn. I didn't notice when I first bought it that the heart is not supposed to die-cut a heart, but rather just add a stitched imprint on a project. It makes sense, since you can use it to decorate the pocket, but it was not what I was going for when I used it a few weeks ago on another project, thinking I would get a die-cut heart with a stitched detail. I remembered about it today, though, and it was perfect to decorate the square like on the sketch.
It was also my first time using the glow in the dark powder from Lawn Fawn. I have mixed feelings about the result I got - the powder was not sticking to the stamped VersaMark image like regular powder does and the glow I'm getting is fairly light, but I'm holding out on judgement until I have used the powder a few more times.
I got lucky and found the sentiment "You make me glow" in one of my French sets (an older SAB set from years ago). It was perfect to make the fireflies make sense. The background was made with Core'dinations cardstock, which I embossed with the Framed Tulips embossing folder and then I lightly sanded the frame to make the design stand out.
Supplies
Stamps: Effervescence (Sprinkled Expressions - Stampin' Up!); Little Fireflies (Lawn Fawn)
Cardstock: Pool Party Core'dinations, Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay, Whisper White (Stampin' Up!)

Inspiration: Merry Monday #294 + Just Us Girls #445 (Black + Red + my choice: blue)
I would not necessarily have thought to use the Hay There stamp set for a Christmas card, but Merry Monday's challenge this week was to include a barn on our card. I was racking my brains trying to figure if I had anything remotely close to a barn, which I didn't think I did, but then I thought of the barn in Hay There and even though it's not a Christmas set, I figured I could add snow to it using the Winte Village stamp set. Turned out that the snow in that stamp set is for flat roofs, but while looking through my Lawn Fawn stamps for Christmas embellishments to use on the animals, I spotted a pointy snowdrift in Frosty Fairy Friends (meant for the fairy house). I also found a Santa hat, a gift and a scarf in Baash Humbug, which were the perfect size for the farm animals. Because I had pulled out the Frosty Fairy Friends set, I got the idea to use the Christmas lights image as well. Size-wise, those are some kick-ass big lights in comparison to the barn, but it looked so adorable, I just couldn't leave them off. I colored the lights with bright-colored markers and added a paler halo with a softer color around the lights. It adds such a nice touch to the light detail. Glossy Accents was added to make the bulbs shiny as well.
I knew i wanted to use the blue gingham paper from the Gotta Have Gingham paper pack for the sky, and the Stitched Hillside Backdrop: Portrait die for the ground. There were a lot of trials and errors with this one before I found the combo I liked the best. Initially, I had used Dazzling Diamonds glimmer paper from Stampin' Up!, but the shimmer has color in it, so it was a little distracting and the hills were getting lost in there. My Tonic specialty papers were out and I spotted the little polka dots patterns. I die-cut the Hail Storm (blue) first, but it was too much blue with the sky, so I went for Snowdrop Meadow (white) instead. I liked the look, but since I had already die-cut the blue, I figured I could use both to add definition to the two snow-covered hills.
Once the farm was put together, I decided to die-cut a Merry Christmas out of red cardstock, and add a few stitched snowflakes as well. One of the Christmas sets I had pulled out was Christmas Dreams and I got the idea to use the ribbon bow at the top of the card, over the scalloped frame. By the way, when you cut your card base a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2", you see the color of the card between the scallops of the frame, so I cut my card base a tad smaller (4" x 5-1/4") to avoid having the white showing. It's a nice trick to keep in mind, depending on the look you are trying to achieve.
Supplies
Stamps: Hay There, Baaah Humbug, Christmas Dreams, Frosty Fairy Friends (Lawn Fawn)

This card was born out of the My Favorite Things Color challenge #95 and some new stuff I wanted to take out for a spin. I've been really intrigued by the Birch Press Design layering dies, but the high price was giving me pause. I finally decided to give one set a try yesterday when I found some at my local store. I picked the Prem set, because I like how the drop openings looks a bit like a peacock feather pattern. I embossed the background with the Tufted embossing folder from my Stampin' Up! annual catalogue order. The sentiment (from Altenew) reads "Let's Celebrate!"
Supplies
Stamps: Bitty Bears (My Favorite Things), Label Love French (Altenew)

Inspiration: Page Maps Sketch April 2018 + Simon Says Stamp Monday (Anything but a card)
The Oh Baby collection from Simple Stories was perfect to scrapbook a picture taken of my niece when she first started smiling. I switched the picture to black and white to make the pictures more neutral and make it work with the pastel hues of the papers. I used a die-cut of the word "smile" for the title twice and use the S from the second die-cut to make my word plural.
Supplies
Cardstock: Bazzill
Patterned Papers, Stickers and Die-Cuts: Oh, Baby! (Simple Stories)
Accessories: Pool Party Baker's Twine, Subtles Enamel Shapes, Stampin' Dimensionals, Corner Rounder Punch,
Soft Suede Stampin' Write Marker, Glimmer Washi Tape, Copper Designer Buttons (Stampin' Up!);

This card was inspired by Create with Connie and Mary #513 (CASE p. 48 of the annual catalogue) and In{k]spire Me #354. I hadn't done any catalogue CASE just yet, which I always love to do when a new catalogue is released. The card chosen had an interesting layout, and I decided to pair it with the new Varied Vases stamp set, which I hadn't used yet aside from a sentiment. I love the look of the set and all the cute little details it incorporate. While I also like that it's bundled with a punch instead of dies (punches are easier and quicker), I will admit that I hate those punches where a boatload of images are crunched into one punch. It just ends up wasting cardstock, you always have to struggle to push your cardstock in and line it up properly with the punch and try not to have edges catching up in the rest of the punch. You also can't do any negative image with the punch because of all of the extra pieces it created around. You also get a million tiny scraps flying around from the other images. I know the point is saving up on space and money, but in the end, I'm just not a big fan.
I stayed pretty true to the original layout. I'm going to guess that the sample in the catalogue is not a regular 4-1/4" x 5-1/2" but a smaller notecard. This assumption is based on the fact that I used the biggest stitched square die from the Stitched Shapes Framelits set, like in the image, and you can see the frame it created is not filling up the card front like on the sample. I decided to stick with the larger card format and just make it work. To fill the card, I made me paper strip longer and glued it at an angle, weaving it through the square frame. I also pushed the button down lower, and I added the scallop border from the stamp set at the top and bottom. The background cardstock was embossed with the Layered Leaves 3D embossing folder.
Thanks to the color combo challenge, you are seeing one of the new colors highlighted, highland Heather (the pale purple), paired with a returning past In Color, Blackberry Bliss. I will admit I'm surprised this was selected as a returning color. I've always had the hardest time using it (although it does look nice with this combo here), the ink stains the stamps like you wouldn't believe and I personally would have preferred to see Concord Crush make a comeback if we were bringing a dark purple back. People seemed happy to see this shade being brought back, so I guess it might have been popular with others. I haven't even reorgnized my ink rack and my cardstock folders to have the new current colors together. I reserve judgement until I've played with the new color line. Usage usually tells you what works and what doesn't and it's rarely what you initially expected.

This month's Stamping Bella theme is Fauna and Flora and the Red Little Wagon weekly challenge is Flowers (#449). I was going through current stamps from the company and found Lily of the Valley, so I decided to get her inked up. Looking through my papers to find something that would suit her, I landed on the Posh collection from Simple Stories. I was tempted to color her with markers because I had used pencils the last time I colored her, but in the end, I was more in the mood for Prismacolor coloring so I stuck with that idea.
The design came from an old Mojo Monday sketch (#362). To keep with the flower theme, I decided to add a paper clay flower. Years ago Stampin' Up! carried paper clay and molds. The last time I went looking for them, I couldn't find them anywhere. I'm usually pretty good at not misplacing stuff, but I think those got stuck away in a forgotten spot after my last move. Against all hope, I finally found the molds and clay when I was not looking for them recently, and I was tempted to test the clay to see if it had dried out. Turns out it hadn't! So I made a few white flowers and buttons, and today I spritzed one with a handmade Pool Party mist to match my project.
To work with my layout, I used a vertical sentiment from the Vertical Greetings stamp set that reads "Thinking of you."

I was trying to think of how I could use the Reveal Wheel with a French message and this morning, inspiration struck. In French, the "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not" petal picking game is more about how much someone loves you: a little, a bit more, a lot, passionately. The four options were perfect for the wheel, and I figured I could use the Easter Party stamp set to create a field of flowers to go with the sentiment.
I found an "I Love You" die for the top of the card. I tried my smallest alphabet stamp set but the longest word wouldn't fit in the window, so I decided to try my best calligraphy instead.
The colors were inspired by CAS Colours and Sketches #275, and the flower theme by Little Red Wagon #449.

Inspiration: Merry Monday #293 + Retro Rubber #88
This week's Merry Monday challenge calls for angels. A quick scan of my stamps confirmed that I didn't have a lot of option, but I did have the one image that popped into my head when I read the challenge: the angel from the Yuletide Montage stamp set. I believe I added this set to my supplies over a decade ago. (I know it's one of my oldest sets because there are some pictures of projects made with it on page 1 of my Splitcoast Stampers gallery!!) Although I love the images from this set. I have trouble creating with it because it's outside of my usual comfort zone.
I was doubtful that I was going to like the card when I first started working on it, but thankfully, it started taking shape as I plugged along and in the end, I am pleased with the result. The main image was stamped on Crumb Cake cardstock in Soft Suede ink and colored with Prismacolor pencils. (Just for kicks, have a look at one of the cards I had made back in 2005 with this set, also using my Prismacolor pencils. There's been some progress...) I picked the Frosted papers from KaiserCraft to go with it and I inked everything to match the vintage look of the image. (Last week, one of the challenges website had a shabby chic theme - I was hoping to join but didn't have time, but I think the theme stayed on my mind.)
I think the card really took shape when I added pearls to the sentiment circle, a little wooden snowflake and a sparkly chipboard piece that I randomly found while looking for the wood snowflakes. That's when I decided I was going to love this card after all.

The starting point for that page was the Calendar Girl collection from Bo Bunny. I've had it for a while and I decided to pick a month and go looking for pictures taken during that month. Last year, I was invited to a going away party for my former boss in November, so that's where the page started from. Since the pack includes die-cuts but only one patterned paper per month, I looked for others papers to match with it, and I realized that I could draw inspiration from the Color Throwndown #495 for colors. As I was looking for navy patterned paper, I actually found a really old sheet of paper from Junkitz (only long-time scrapbookers will remember that company, I'm sure) that incorporated all the right colors.
The rest of my design came from a December 2017 Page Maps sketch that was adapted from 8½" x 11" to 12" x 12". I had too much journaling to fit comfortably on the page without changing the design, so I did a pull out tab behind the striped paper instead. The sparkly chipboard pieces and metal frame are from Making Memories, so they are probably as old as the Junkitz paper is. The little row of beading on the right side is also some super old supplies I purchased right when I first started scrapbooking. I found the beads recently while looking for something else and put it aside to try and use. I ended up separating the colours for another project, where I only used the mauve and green beads, so I had kept the leftover blue beads aside and I decided they could work on this page. It felt good to give new life to old supplies.
